Cultural Threads: Expressing Identity Through Traditional Clothing
Cultural Threads is a collection of baby dolls wearing handmade, authentic, traditional, cultural clothing. All cultures represented can be found in North Central Wisconsin. This collection of dolls is a traveling exhibit throughout North Central Wisconsin, beginning in November 2023.
All cultures have traditional clothing that signify one’s identity and culture. It shows unity and status, and celebrates important events. Whether it be a kilt, sari, lederhosen, dashiki, poncho, or kimono, all cultures share this commonality. Let’s celebrate our shared traditions while showcasing the variety of cultures living in our area.
